Step by step how to ditch limiting beliefs

It's time for magic , I know you're up for it 😘

If you didn't read my post from last week make sure you take a look before taking on this week's tools.

Quick recap:

Your conscious mind is the goal setter and your unconscious mind is the goal getter.

This means if you have any underlying unconscious beliefs that go against what you want to accomplish, you'll find a way to sabotage your success. An example would be you want to lose weight and you have a belief that it's really impossible to lose weight, that everyone in your family can't lose weight, and that there's not enough time to change your life. How far do you think these beliefs will let your actions get?

Listen, you're too amazing to live anything less than your ideal life. So regardless of how long you've had these limiting beliefs, you can 100% decide today that it's time to throw them to the side and move forward in a new and unencumbered way. So the question is, are you ready to ditch the excuses and take back control of your future?

My mentor said this 👆 to me many years ago and it's really stuck with me. At first I wanted to fight against what I was being taught because if this is true, this means that I have been the person getting in my way all of this time. And you know what? I was. And the truth is, so are you. The good news is once you accept that you have control over your outcomes, you can change those outcomes.

So let's dive into how you let go of our excuses and embrace more action.

Step 1: Identify the limiting beliefs that are keeping you from what you want in life. To find them is simple. If I were to ask you why you aren't where you want to be, think of the excuses that come to mind. Please understand I say excuses with love and support. We all have them, I've had them, I still have them from time to time. Once we call it what it is, we can go ahead and drop them faster than a hot coal. We're done tippy-toeing about. Life is too short to not take control.

Step 2: Think of ALL of the people in this world who have done what you want to do with the same resources you have. Even starting with the question: has anyone done what I want to do with these same circumstances? - will help you loosen the grip on this belief.

Here's an example: "I want to go back to school and get my MBA. But wait! I can't go back to school because I have two kids at home who need me and I don't have the time to go to school."

Now the question: has anyone who has two kids gone back to school? Yes? I mean, Y-E-S....

So now, think of people you know who have done it. For me, my mom is a great example. She had two kids in school when she went back to school and got her bachelors and then after that her masters. She drove over two hours each way to school because there was no University in the small town we lived in. Now for step three...

Step 3: Now this is the most important and the most fun step in the process. It's time to name all of the reasons WHY you absolutely CAN achieve your goal. Going back to the weight loss example:
👏I've set high goals before and achieved them
🍎I can meal prep on Sundays
💊I can do squats at my desk in between meetings (and yes if you've ever worked with me this is something I actually do)
ðŸ‘Ŋ♀ïļI can find a workout buddy to help keep me accountable
😋I have control over what I choose to eat.

This list could truly go on forever. Once you've got a robust list created, you'll realize that you have way more going for you than against you.

Bonus step: If there is a limiting belief that really has you stuck. Change the wording of it so it puts you in the driver's seat and it'll begin to shift your mindset on it. ie I don't have the time to workout - I don't make the time to workout.

Life isn't happening to you. You're in the driver's seat, you choose the destination, and you can create the outcome you want. Let me know if you have any questions or need any assistance.
